2016 Summer research elective at uOttawa
Dear Students,
uOttawa has sent us 4 project proposals who are open to take in international students this summer. Of course our students are also welcome to find labs on their own too.
This opportunity is open to students in the College of Medicine for this summer.
Proposed research elective time: 6-8 weeks between July-September
Tuition: free
Housing: uOttawa will help arrange, but self pay
DEADLINE: March 11th, 2016
Students will need to provide
1. Application form
2. Official and up-to-date transcript in English
3. Letter of intent for each research project explaining the reasons for your interests and outlining what you hope to gain from this experience. Each letter should be addressed to the host-professor and be tailored to the project description. The letter should also explain how your past experiences and academic background qualify for this internship.
4. A letter of recommendation written by your supervisor in a sealed envelope.
5. Curriculum vitae (resume)
6. Previous lab experience is favorable.

There are some requirements such as recent English proficiency score (研修期間為一個月以內者，得繳交兩年內之英語檢定證明(全民英檢、多益、托福、雅思)外，其餘限托福TOEFL iBT 79分以上，或雅思(IELTS) 6.0以上。其他英語測試成績，不予採認)。The next deadline for application is April 31.

敬致 成大醫學院學生
University of Ottawa渥太華大學是本校的姐妹校。他是一間研究型大學，也是加拿大其中一間歷史最長的大學。對方提供本校醫學院學生暑期實習機會。目前有對方單位4位老師表示有意願提供暑期實習機會(附件為老師們的介紹)。學生也可以另外找其他實驗室的老師。
這個暑期實習的機會不需繳學費，有意願參加這個實習計畫的學生可以跟國科會及校部國際處申請獎學金。
希望藉由在加拿大進行為期6-8週的實習，增加學生的工作經驗。
機會非常難得，醫學院國際事務分處也很希望學生能踴躍報名參加。
我們會將學生資料提供給uOttawa進行後續甄選的工作(Matching)。
建議有意願報名的學生準備完整的個人簡歷及各式有助於甄選的資料。
希望可以讓越來越的成大學生具備海外實習這類很有意義的經驗。
