Speaker Biography

Professor Michael Xi Zhu is a distinguished Chinese American scientist who has been invited to National Cheng Kung University as a short-term visiting scholar.

With more than 40 years of experience in teaching and research in the United States, Professor Zhu previously served as a professor in the Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology, McGovern Medical School, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, China.

His research focuses on neurosciencebiomedical optical imaging, and cell biology, with internationally recognized contributions to the study of TRP channelscalcium signaling, and cellular signal transduction. His work also explores signaling mechanisms involving membrane receptorslysosomes, and mitochondria, significantly advancing our understanding of neuroscience and cell biology.
